4th Annual Father's Day edition of Home Jam Sessions! Daddio picked Let It Be Me by the Everly Brothers this year. Hillary was around too, so she makes an appearance on vocals. Enjoy it, and share it!
I've had the pleasure of recording a few times with my friend, Marie Hopperstad, but this is the first time we've produced a video. I always love jamming with her because her voice is just so damned good.
The song was her choice, and she nailed it. Even though she gave me four days to learn how to play the tune, I didn't learn it until we were sitting in the studio (I'm a chronic procrastinator). It did take a few tries, so I think this is the third or fourth full take.
My sister Hillary and I recorded this Sheryl Crow cover several years ago, and I stumbled across it today when going through my iTunes. Wanted to share. Hillary rocked the vocals, I played all the instruments. Brent did all the engineering. I just threw it into Logic Pro to juice up the output a little bit. Hope ya like it!
What has now become a tradition, my Dad and I record a tune for the home jam sessions videos on Father's Day. The last one was a success with a couple hundred views. This one I think is even better because it is an original song called If I Knew You Then, written for my stepmother Diane.
I had the pleasure this past weekend of being interviewed for a really cool new website, Acousticly.com!

From Acousticly.com: "I discovered the Chris Smith Band through their Twitter account, and needless to say, I was extremely impressed! His song, Make You Mine, has reggae influence, and this song has become a favorite of mine recently... Chris's future is bright as he performs at more venues, and he has already released an album, (Imaginary Fears), which is on iTunes. I hope to speak to Chris again in the fall when his new album is released"
